Family displaced by fire in Concord

The Red Cross is helping a Concord family following a Sunday fire at their home on Health Department Drive.
A press release says that the city of Concord Department of Fire and Life Safety was dispatched on Sunday at 3:23 p.m. to a reported apartment fire at 638 Health Dept. Drive.
The first fire unit arrived on scene at 3:25 p.m. Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire coming from the residence. Seven fire units were dispatched to this call and the fire was under control within 11 minutes. Only one family was displaced and is receiving assistance from the Cabarrus County American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
