SALISBURY — A Salisbury man who has been behind bars since Sept. 28 on charges of assaulting his girlfriend and two other people with a baseball bat is facing more charges.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has charged Roland Thomas Simmons Jr., 29, of 105 Yale Road, with four counts of breaking and entering motor vehicles to commit felony larceny.
According to the report, Simmons broke into vehicles belonging to E.F. Belk & Son electric company and AAA Discount Auto Sales in Mooresville and stole items.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office had previously charged him with first-degree burglary, domestic violence protection order violation and three counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflecting serious bodily injury.
Simmons is accused of breaking into a home at 1010 Ashford Circle Sept. 26 and hitting Pamela Janelle Cain, Wesley Morton and Timothy Finney with a baseball bat.
Cain has previously filed a domestic violence protection order against Simmons.
