PPT's Haunted Theater opens tonight

Around Halloween, the ghosts of the theater become restless, and Piedmont Players Theatre hosts Haunted Theater tours as a special seasonal fundraiser.
Because the Meroney Theater building is more than 100 years old, the tours are based on true ghost stories. There really are skeletons in the closets, not to mention the curtain riggings.
Each year the tour is different but features classic Victorian and Gothic stage techniques that will help visitors get their horror on.
So just how scary is the Haunted Theater?
The tour is designed for all ages.
Elementary school students will cling to their parents for protection. Middle and high-school students will cling to their friends, and the girls will scream their heads off. College students and adults will be amazed and entertained.
Organizers promise that you will get spooked if you allow yourself to be.
This year’s Haunted Theater starts tonight, Oct. 27 and continues through Halloween night, Monday, Oct. 31. Hours are 7-10 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 29, there will be a 3-5 p.m. matinee as well.
All tickets are $8 and available at the door only.
The Meroney Theater is located at 213 S. Main St. For more information, call 704-633-5471.
