LANDIS — If you’ve got drugs, the Landis Police Department wants them.
The department will sponsor a medication drop-off from Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at King’s Quick Stop, 100 W. Ryder Ave.
The “Got Drugs?” campaign is an effort to allow people a safe place to discard any unused or old medications. The medicines can be prescribed or over the counter.
An average of 127 million prescriptions are filled statewide each year, but as much as 40 percent of those drugs are never used, Linn has said.
“We encourage anyone and everyone to come to the Got Drugs operation,” he said.
Last year, the Landis Police Department collected 300 doses of medication. Statewide, agencies collected 4 million doses.
