Four charged in home invasion
CONCORD — Four men have been charged in a Monday morning home invasion.
According to a Concord Police press release, the men broke into a 503 Old Charlotte Road home at about 2:30 a.m. and used duct tape to bind the hands and feet of the adult residents.
The release said the men announced that they were the police before forcing their way into the home. The suspects pulled a handgun on the residents and sprayed them with pepper spray. The home was reportedly occupied by four adults and a child.
The suspects removed televisions, cash and electronics before fleeing the home. After the robbers left, one of the bound residents was able to get free and call 911. The caller gave a description of the vehicle and the direction it was traveling.
Once Concord Police officers arrived on the scene, they located a vehicle believed to be occupied by the robbers.
Officers stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Concord Parkway and Cabarrus Avenue in Concord before arresting the four men inside. The report said the vehicle contained stolen property from the house.
Concord Police arrested Troutman resident James Leon Rucker, 31, and Mooresville residents Sidney Jerrico Anderson, 20, Santario Myron Caldwell and John Ervin Mills IV.
Rucker was charged with four counts of felony armed robbery, five counts of second-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, impersonating a law enforcement officer, and resisting, obstructing or delaying a public officer.
Anderson, Caldwell and Mills were each charged with four counts of felony armed robbery, five counts of second-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, impersonating a law enforcement officer, and resisting, obstructing or delaying a public officer.
All four were taken to Cabarrus County jail. Rucker was given a $300,000 bond. Anderson, Caldwell and Mills were each given $150,000 bonds.
