KANNAPOLIS — A.L. Brown High School Principal Kevin Garay recently announced that Hannah Love has been named a Commended Student in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.
She will receive a Letter of Commendation from A.L. Brown High School and from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program.
Hannah is president of the Beta Club, a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient, a Morehead-Cain nominee, a 2011 alumnus of Governor’s School East and is very active in theatre and choir.
She plans to attend UNC Chapel Hill. Hannah is the daughter of Jim and Lori Aldridge Love of Kannapolis.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.
Although they will not continue in the 2012 competition for National Merit Scholarships, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2012 competition by taking the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
