Preservation commission considers building improvements

SALISBURY ó The cityís Historic Preservation Commission has a busy agenda this week.
At 5:15 p.m. Thursday in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 217 S. Main St., the commission will consider the following requests for Certificates of Appropriateness:
401 N. Fulton St. Andrew Jackson Masonic, owner
Jason Sparge, applicant/agent
Request: (1) Replace windows. Windows will match the size, shape, and configuration of the existing windows, but will be vinyl construction. (2) Replace existing vents on the rear elevation that are not operational with new windows to match existing windows.
310 S. Shaver St. Alberto & Evelyn Medina, owner
Request: Replace front door with appropriate wood door
110 S. Lee St. Leo Wallace, III and Mona Lisa Wallace, owner
Gray Stout, applicant/agent
Request: Parking lot landscaping and lighting and pay kiosk installation.
820 N. Lee St. Jack Javis, owner
Request: Brick foundation is proposed to laminate with granite flat rock to give impression of rock foundation; strictly cosmetic, not load bearing. Application amended to paint a portion of the foundation.
130 S. Ellis St. Gus Andrews, owner
200 S. Ellis St. James Sparks Jr., owner
Request: Both parties request to have permission to remove a tree they feel creates a danger to person and property located on the property line.
904 Richard St. James F. Ladson, owner
Request: (1) Repair front steps by replacing with brick. There are five steps. The width of the step is 46 inches. (2) Install hand rail up the steps for support.
