Sleeping man charged with felonies

SALISBURY — Deputies charged a man with two felonies on Wednesday after they found him sleeping on the hood of his vehicle with a stolen handgun.
According to Salisbury Police, officers received a call to check on 56-year-old Johnny Castor after the caller said they had not heard from him recently.
Police said they found Castor asleep on the hood of his vehicle with a .38 caliber special Smith and Wesson handgun at his home at 11 White Oak Circle. The weapon was recently reported stolen.
Castor, who is a convicted felon, was charged with felony possession of stolen goods and felony possession of a firearm by a felon.
He was given a $10,000 bond and was in jail Thursday morning.
