A man has died after a head-on collision on Faith Road.
A blue Dodge van and a white van collided near the intersection of Faith and Byrd roads just west of Granite Quarry. The wreck occurred about 12:30 p.m. Authorities said the driver of the white van lost control and crossed the center line, hitting the blue van.
The white van ended up on its side. The blue van ran off the road into a ditch. The front ends of the vans were still connected.
A woman in the white van was freed from the vehicle and taken to the hospital with significant injuries to her left leg. Multiple sources have told the Post that the man who died on the scene is Alfred Fink, of Faith.
Johnny Love, Salisbury mechanic and president of the Rowan County Fair Association, said he knew Fink through an employee who is engaged to Fink’s daughter.
“He was a truly great fellow,” Love said. “I know him quite well. It’s tough.”
