Landis board to hear about mud trail run

LANDIS ó A week after the first-ever adventure/mud trail run at the Lake Corriher Wilderness Area, the board will hear from Parks Director Andrew Morgan about the event at its Monday meeting.
The Down and Dirty Adventure run was held Sept. 24 with hundreds of participants. The money raised from the event will benefit the Landis Parks Department specifically so that people can canoe, kayak and enjoy other activities at the wilderness area.
The board will also:
Receive a request from the staff at First United Methodist Church to close the 100 block of South Central Avenue and the 200 block of East Mill Street on Oct. 29 from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. for a fall festival event.
The church will have a trunk or treat event that night.
Declare certain property as surplus.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. at 312 S. Main St., Landis town hall.
