n Local golf
Salisbury resident Frank Adams III shot 67-69-72 ó 208 and tied for fourth in the EGolf Tour Bushnell Classic held in Gordonsville, Va.
Adams won $4,875.
n The 5th Annual Saving Grace Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament held in honor of 9-year-old Grace Hodge was held at Corbin Hills.
The first place team was led by captain Ron Eidson, Harold Morris, Kathy (BBF) Spry, and Erin Spry. They won a round of golf at Pinehurst No. 8.
Captain Jay Hill, Keith Dorsett, Michael Dorsett and David Dorsett finished second and won a round at Highland Creek.
Max Eller won the putting contest. The winner of the longest drive hole (No. 11) was Derek Overcash. Eidson won closes to the pin.
Team ěSaving Graceî thanks all sponsors, donors and golfers. All money raised goes directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to fund needed research to find a cure for Grace and others with CF.
n Salisbury boosters
The Salisbury High School Athletic Booster Club meets on Monday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

n Youth track
The YMCA Salisbury Speedsters had their first Cross Country meet at Gastonia Ashbrook on Saturday.
Bantam (ages 9-10) and Midget (11-12 ) boys and girls run 3000 meters (almost two miles) and the Youth (13-14) run 4000 meters (21/2 miles).
It was a hilly course and a windy day.
Aubree Cain (1st place, Bantam girls), Andrew Burgess (1st, Midget boys), Jaxon Evans (2nd, Bantam boys), Tyler Cain (2nd, Youth boys), Lauren Dorman (2nd, Bantam girls), Jonah Evans (3rd, Midget boys), Julianna Evans (3rd, Youth girls) and Lindsay Dorman (4th, Youth girls) excelled for the Speedsters.
The next meet is in Charlotte on Oct. 22.
n Prep cross country
East Rowan, Carson and South Rowan competed at Saturdayís Wendyís Invitational 3A Meet held at McAlpine Greenway in Charlotte.
Thirty-one teams and 210 runners from the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia competed in the boys race. Led by individual champ Jonathan Bivens (15:46), Weddington won with a score of 32.
Eastís Cole Honeycutt finished second in 16:08 and led East to a fourth-place finish.
Scorers for East included Brad Oden (20th, 16:51, medal), Cal Meyers (35th, 17:17), Conor Honeycutt (42nd, 17:28) and Joseph Furtado (49th, 17:31).
Graham Lyerly (17:33) and Justin Allen (17:51) also ran well for the Mustangs.
Carson placed fifth. Jacob Fink (21st, 16:52) led the Cougars. Kyle Gillis (30th, 17:08), Chase Johnson (43rd, 17:28), Nathan McMasters (51st, 17:32) and Nick Thornton (18:11) were scorers for the Cougars.
South Rowan was 18th.
Alex Reed (63rd, 17:44) led the Raiders. Other Raider scorers were Trevor Sides (17:52), Karl Benz (18:21), Angel Ruiz (18:30) and Jonathan Ruiz (18:38).
n In the girls 3A meet, East was 22nd and South was 26th.
Hannah Houston (67th, 21:47), led Southís girls.
Cacy Honeycutt (104th, 22:57) led Eastís girls.
n College volleyball
Catawbaís volleyball team (11-3) swept Augusta State on Saturday 25-20, 25-19, 25-16.
Shay Meeks and Kaitlyn Whitmer had 14 kills each, and Jordan Raye dished out 46 assists.
n Livingstone (9-8) won twice on Saturday at Trent Gym, beating Johnson & Wales 3-1 and sweeping Edward Waters.
Phylicia Egbuna had 19 kills against Johnson & Wales.
Shanna Stewart (Carson) had eight kills for J&W.
n Breckin Settlemyer (Carson) had six kills and 31/2 blocks as Catawba Valley Community College swept Brunswick CC on Saturday.
n College tennis
Catawbaís tennis teams beat Barton in Wilson on Friday.
Catawbaís men (3-0) won 6-1 against the Bulldogs, while Catawbaís women (2-1) posted a 5-3 victory.
n College cross country
Livingstone competed in Saturdayís HBCU Challenge in Cary.
Livingstoneís women finished 14th in a 5K. Anna-Kay Edwards (22:55) led the Blue Bears.
Livingstoneís men finished 16th. Ezra Mutai (33:09) led the Blue Bears in an 8K race.
