Sasha’s Birthday Party is an annual fundraiser event for Faithful Friends no-kill animal sanctuary located in Rowan County.  The day is filled with games, contests, prizes and fun for kids of all ages.  Free snacks, cookies, punch and a special birthday cake for Sasha.  Bring cat or dog food for Faithful Friends and receive a FREE gift from Sasha!  Event from 11am-4pm. GermanFest

This event, to be held from 5 pm until 9 pm, on the grounds of Rowan’s only surviving colonial home:  the 1766 Old Stone House,  will feature an evening of German food, music  and lifestyle demonstrations of the colonial period. Museum staffers and volunteers in period clothing will be demonstrating open fire cooking, basketry, kraut cutting, weaving, late summer chores, candle dipping and woodcarving.   A full meal of German fare will be served, along with beer and wine. Tickets are $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for students.  Reservations are required and can be made by contacting the Museum at 704-633-5946 or email at rowanmuseum@carolina.rr.com. Reservations must be made!.  The Museum does accept credit cards.

Gold Hill Founder’s Day

We’re proud to announce more additions to this year’s event in the Heritage Living Area.  The Civil War Living History. Encampment area has been increased and an adjacent area will also include Heritage Living Exhibits. Demonstrations and more. The 63rd North Carolina Troops, with added support from the 38th North Carolina Troops, will again host a Skirmish between the North & the South at 3:30PM on the lawn behind the Log Barn. Founders’ Day Parade will begin at 10AM – Lineup starts at The Gold Hill Fire Department at 9AM.

Day Out with Thomas

Thomas the Tank Engine visits the museum and gives train rides, with a variety of entertainment events, including music, a magician, Thomas play areas, Imagination Station, and the opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt!
