Report: Chickens worth $800 stolen
A China Grove man called authorities on Thursday when he awoke to find two of his chickens missing.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, Tony Maejia told deputies that two Hatch-Kelso chickens were stolen after he went to bed at 1 a.m. on Thursday. The chickens were valued at $800.
Maejia, who lives off of N.C. 153, told officers that he heard his dog barking during the night, but didn’t look outside.
The report was filed Thursday morning. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
