SALISBURY — A 42-year-old man is in jail Monday after reportedly breaking into his ex-wife’s home, and assaulting her and her boyfriend with a knife.
According to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office report, Terry Christy, 8425 Old Concord Road, was arrested after he allegedly entered Cassie Christy’s Falcon Ridge Road home and began assaulting her just after midnight on Sunday.
Cassie told officers she ran outside and when she did, Terry followed, throwing a bicycle at the car of her boyfriend, Tony Rippey, and breaking the window.
When Rippey confronted the man in the yard, Terry Christy reportedly pulled out a knife and “attempted to stab Tony.”
The couple told authorities that Christy got onto a bicycle and went into the woods behind the trailers on Falcon Ridge Road.
Christy was arrested later on Sunday and charged with misdemeanor domestic criminal trespass, assault on a female, misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor breaking and entering.
He will not receive a bond until his first court appearance.
