KANNAPOLIS — Sunday, Sept. 25 at 10:30 a.m. is the sixth annual Biker Sunday at Kimball Lutheran Church, 101 Vance St.
The service includes communion and individual healing prayers. The pastor will bless the bikes and pray for the safety of the riders. After the worship, a free hot dog lunch will be served. Beginning at 10 a.m. and during and after lunch, there will be music, fun and fellowship.
If you ride or know people who do, come on out and invite your friends to join you as we give thanks for bikes and ask God’s blessing upon those who ride them. Motorcycles of all types will have reserved parking in front of the church.

World Hope friend day
Sunday, Sept. 25 is Friend Day at World Hope, 2203 Mooresville Road. At the 10:30 a.m. service guests are encouraged to wear favorite team colors, whether high school, college, or pro.

At 6 p.m. is a special concert featuring bassist Bernard Harris and Friends. In his unique lefty style and playing his bass upside down, Harris plays gospel, jazz, rhythm & blues and fusion. He is music director and bass player for Christian recording artist Mandisa, as well as a solo artist. For this benefit concert he will be accompanied by his band. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Weather permitting, the concert will be outdoors.

Providence United Methodist Church held a dedication service for the consecration of the new flag pole and mission response trailer as a part of their homecoming service on Sept. 11. The flag pole is the Eagle Scout project of member Levi Morgan.
Providence is thankful for our community scouting programs. The flag pole has been positioned so that it can become an integral part of services of memorial for our deceased veterans.
The mission response trailer will support a newly formed group, “Hammers For Christ” which deals with disaster response as well as helping with home repairs, building ramps, and repairing storm damage for members of our community and region.

Pierson has served as senior pastor of Christ UMC in Tulsa for 37 years, and has served for 15 years as chairperson of the Large Church Initiative of the UMC, a fellowship of 3,000 of the larger United Methodist churches across the U.S. and Canada. Currently Dr. Pierson is serving as executive director of the Leadership Nexus Foundation which he created to offer consulting services and training to help churches become more effective. He is author of “Needs Based Evangelism” and “Tell.”
