KANNAPOLIS — Sunday, Sept. 25 at 10:30 a.m. is the sixth annual Biker Sunday at Kimball Lutheran Church, 101 Vance St.
The service includes communion and individual healing prayers. The pastor will bless the bikes and pray for the safety of the riders. After the worship, a free hot dog lunch will be served. Beginning at 10 a.m. and during and after lunch, there will be music, fun and fellowship.
If you ride or know people who do, come on out and invite your friends to join you as we give thanks for bikes and ask God’s blessing upon those who ride them. Motorcycles of all types will have reserved parking in front of the church.
After the worship, you might have the opportunity to ride on a bike. There will be free photos of individual bikes and riders. Bikers are asked to bring a teddy bear or canned goods for First Responders and CVAN. Call 704 933-4101 for more details.
Henderson Grove
Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund Committee will host a rainbow tea today, Saturday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, featuring the play “Glory Train.” Dinner will be served, $10 a person. All proceeds go to the church Building Fund.

EAST SPENCER — Love Christian Center and the Salisbury Rowan Branch NAACP will have a community day and voter registration 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.day today, Sept. 24 at Love Christian Center, 102 N. Word of Life
On Sunday, Sept. 25 during the 10 a.m. service at Word of Life Family Worship Center, Bishop Gregory L. Fly will preach.
Fly is pastor of Grace New Covenant Apostolic Church in Columbus, Ohio and holds a Bachelors of Theology from International Apostolic University of Grace and Truth.

World Hope friend day
Sunday, Sept. 25 is Friend Day at World Hope, 2203 Mooresville Road. At the 10:30 a.m. service guests are encouraged to wear favorite team colors, whether high school, college, or pro.
Following the service there will be free tailgating, a classic car display, cornhole and volleyball and a drawing for Carolina Panthers tickets.
At 6 p.m. is a special concert featuring bassist Bernard Harris and Friends. In his unique lefty style and playing his bass upside down, Harris plays gospel, jazz, rhythm & blues and fusion. He is music director and bass player for Christian recording artist Mandisa, as well as a solo artist. For this benefit concert he will be accompanied by his band. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Weather permitting, the concert will be outdoors.

North Kannapolis
KANNAPOLIS — North Kannapolis Baptist Church will celebrate its 81st anniversary with homecoming services on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 10:30 a.m. A traditional covered-dish meal will follow the service. The church is located at 312 Locust Street, Kannapolis.

Mt. Mitchell UMC
KANNAPOLIS — On Sunday Sept. 25 at 11 a.m., Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church will celebrate homecoming with guest speaker the Rev. Bob Dennis, who served Mt. Mitchell from 1966-1970.

St. Paul’s Episcopal
On Sunday, Sept. 25, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will hold a Service of Institution of the Ruth Chapter of the order of the Daughters of the King and of Admission of five candidates into the order.
Rhet Wilkinson, Diocesan President of the DOK, will present the crosses to the candidates. There will be guests from other churches present. A reception will follow the service in the parish hall.

Church of the Nazarene
The Church of the Nazarene, 224 W. 12th St., will hold a homecoming service celebrating 70 years, on Sunday, Sept. 25. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. and the 11 a.m. service will feature the Rev. MOCKSVILLE — Boxwood Baptist Church, 299 Boxwood Church Road, will hold its annual Women’s Day Service on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3 p.m.
Keynote speaker will be the Rev. Evelyn Miller, an associate minister of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Southern City Church
EAST SPENCER — The Missionary Department of Southern City Tabernacle AME Zion Church, 940 S. Long St., will observe Overseas Mission Sunday on Sept. 25, a connectional day for AME Zion churches.
The day will culminate with a “100 Women in White” concert at 3 p.m., a choir composed of women from various denominations, under the direction of Sir Davis, the Minister of Music at Shady Grove Baptist Church. An offering will be collected.
St. John’s Lutheran
Organist Andre Lash will be in concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 in the sanctuary of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 W. Innes St. A reception will follow.
Lash will present a concert of composers including Bach, Mozart, Vierne and Sowerby. He is currently instructor of organ in the School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is also organist at Christ United Methodist Church, Greensboro. He has a doctoral degree in musical arts from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.
Main Street Baptist
CHINA GROVE — Main Street Baptist Church will have its monthly service of music, “Best of Main Street,” Sunday Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. The choir and all special groups will be presenting the musical program. The Tim Greene Trio will be in concert at Community Baptist Church in Salisbury on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. This is a free concert with a love offering being taken.

The Hinkle Family
Resurrection Life Church of Salisbury, 216 South Main St., hosts the Hinkle Family of Decatur, Texas, at 6 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 25.
The concert is free, a love-offering will be taken. The Hinkle Family has a unique ministry to the elderly in nursing homes, retirement centers and senior centers. They travel 365 days a year coast to coast and have been traveling full-time since 2001. In the last eight years they have traveled more than 1 million miles in 22 states. Mt. Nebo Memorial

Providence UMC
Providence United Methodist Church held a dedication service for the consecration of the new flag pole and mission response trailer as a part of their homecoming service on Sept. 11. The flag pole is the Eagle Scout project of member Levi Morgan.
Providence is thankful for our community scouting programs. The flag pole has been positioned so that it can become an integral part of services of memorial for our deceased veterans.
The mission response trailer will support a newly formed group, “Hammers For Christ” which deals with disaster response as well as helping with home repairs, building ramps, and repairing storm damage for members of our community and region.
Dr. Robert Pierson
First United Methodist Church of Salisbury announces the speaker for this year’s Parker Preaching and Teaching Mission will be Dr. Bob Pierson.
The workshop on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. is on how to witness in the 21st century, at a cost of $25 (materials and lunch) for non-members
Pierson will also speak at the Sunday, Oct. 2, services at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
Pierson has served as senior pastor of Christ UMC in Tulsa for 37 years, and has served for 15 years as chairperson of the Large Church Initiative of the UMC, a fellowship of 3,000 of the larger United Methodist churches across the U.S. and Canada. Currently Dr. Pierson is serving as executive director of the Leadership Nexus Foundation which he created to offer consulting services and training to help churches become more effective. He is author of “Needs Based Evangelism” and “Tell.”
