In honor of First Responders Week and 9/11, Granite Quarry Elementary School hosted a First Responders Appreciation Breakfast on Sept. 14. The Granite Quarry Police and Fire Departments attended.
Selected kindergartners sang a song they created called, “Dial 911.” Several other students read poems and letters of appreciation to the Granite Quarry Fire and Police Departments. The first responders took back hundreds of letters written by the students in all grade levels.
Dr. Becky Smith, assistant superintendent and Dr. Sarah Hensley, director of elementary education attended and greeted these outstanding men and women who put their lives on the line daily “to protect and to serve” all of us.
