There will be dog rescue groups out with dogs for adoption and information about their groups, the Rowan County Humane Society, a Meet the Breeds fair with different popular and rare breed dogs, dog shows, kids games and activities including face painting, coloring contests, pin the tail on the dog and more.
Craft vendors with handmade jewelry, dog related items, handmade napkins, pocketbooks, yard art, and homemade dog treats.
They will also have Canine Good Citizen testing if your dog is ready to pass the 10 step test to show he or she is a K9 Good Citizen.
The new Salisbury therapy dog chapter started in June and will be at the event talking to folks about therapy dogs and the benefits they bring to many in nursing homes and hospitals. There will be training demonstrations including a handler and dog team going through a course performing different exercises and agility demonstrations.
This event is to promote responsible dog ownership through education. It also helps publicize activities with your dog and groups that meet in the area for dog enthusiasts.
