Faith Temple
EAST SPENCER ó The pastor, Dr. Henry C. Diggs and the members of Faith Temple Triumphant Ministries will sponsor a neighborhood meet and greet cookout on their newly purchased grounds for a future church site. This cookout is from 2 p.m. ń 5p.m. today, Saturday, Sept. 17, at the end of Pinetree Drive (700 block), East Spencer.

Lane Street Baptist
KANNAPOLIS ó Lane Street Baptist Church will h ost The Carolina Song Festival tonight, Saturday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. with music by The Lighthouse Trio, By His Blood, The Heritage Quartet, Jerry Church and Jon Casteel.
In addition, Lane Street celebrates its birthday on Sunday, Sept. 18. The Rev. Todd Galloway will be the guest speaker, followed by a covered dish dinner.
Rose of Sharon Church
There are no church services at Rose of Sharon Church, 255 Camp Road, on Sunday, Sept. 18, due to pastor and members being out of town. Services will resume Sept. 24.
Cornerstone Church
Cornerstone Church celebrates the creative arts this Sunday, Sept. 18 at 9 and 11 a.m. Each service will include multiple forms of dance and poetry and admission is free.

St. Peterís Lutheran
St. Peterís Lutheran Church is worshiping Sunday, Sept. 18 at Dan Nicholas Park in the amphitheater. Adult Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. featuring a guitar program of John Denver music by Mike and Gaynell Lambert. Childrenís church begins at the Nature Center with a tour of the animals and a lesson on the importance of animals in our lives.
Church follows at 10:30 a.m. with music by organist Lucy Shue and Mike and Gaynell Lambert. Pastor Dave Ridenhour will preach and following the service, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs will be served at shelter #2.
Maranathaís 38th
On Sunday, Sept. 18, Maranatha Bible Church will celebrate its 38th Homecoming with former Pastor Bob Vetter (1987-1992) preaching at the 10 a.m. service, followed by dinner on the grounds.
Vetter has been Vice President of Development at Cordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, associate pastor of singles minister at Calvary Church, Charlotte, associate pastor at Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh, and CEO of Worldteam Mission International, Atlanta, Ga.
Pine Ridge Baptist
CHINA GROVE ó Pine Ridge Baptist Church will celebrate 62 years on Sunday, Sept. 18, starting at 10 a.m. with an exciting campmeeting atmosphere with fired-up preaching and singing for homecoming.
Guest speaker will be a man known as Mr. Encouragement, Dr. J.L. Cook, president of North Carolina College of Theology at Carolina Beach.
Following lunch, there will be a service.at 2 p.m.

CLEVELAND ó Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1200 Thompson Road, will observe homecoming services on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m. The Rev. John Tucker will preach the 10:30 a.m. service, followed by the annual covered-dish meal in the fellowship hall.
Bethelís 160th
Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church celebrates its 160th anniversary Sept. 18 with a service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a covered-dish lunch.
Bethel was organized with 21 members in March 1851 by the Rev. Jacob Crim, and was known as Franklin Church. In 1854, the name of the church officially became Bethel Lutheran Church (meaning ěHouse of Godî) and the current sanctuary is the third.
Ministries sponsored by Bethel include Franklin Fellowship Club, ZUMBA, Red Cross blood drives, Relay for Life and Habitat for Humanity. They also assist Rowan Helping Ministries, participate in Sharing Shepherds and host the Angel Tree through the Department of Social Services, as well as Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lutheran Men in Mission and Thrivent.
Christiana Lutheran
Christiana Lutheran Church will celebrate its 140th homecoming on Sunday, Sept. 18. The Rev. Randall Cauble will be the preacher. Rev. Cauble attended UNC-Charlotte and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, S.C., graduating in 1986 with a M.Div. degree. He is currently serving as the pastor at New Jerusalem, Hickory.
Homecoming festivities at Christiana begin at 9:25 a.m. with Sunday School, taught by David Preslar and the youth.
Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. led by the Rev. Carl Haynes. The Chancel Choir will sing and following worship the congregation will gather for a catered luncheon by Debbie Suggs. Members are asked to bring a dessert. Seating outside will be available as well, weather permitting.
Christiana is located five miles east of Interstate 85 on Highway 52 near East Rowan High School.
Henderson Grove
Henderson Grove Missionary Baptist Church will observe its annual Menís Day services on Sunday, Sept. 18. The 11 a.m. service will be conducted by the Rev. Perry J. Dye, pastor of Henderson Grove. The guest speaker at the 3 p.m. service will be the Rev. Mark Clark, pastor of Philadelphia United Methodist Church in Stony Point.

Revival services at Ardis Chapel AME Zion Church will be held Sept. 19-22 at 7 p.m.
Homecoming services are Sunday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m., conducted by host pastor the Rev. T. M. Kendall, followed by dinner at 1:30 p.m. and a 3 p.m. service led by the Rev. Dr. Calvin Miller. Miller is the presiding elder of Winston-Salem District of the Western NC Conference and holds a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Christian Counseling, Psychology from Carolina University of Theology, Va.
The Rev. Milton A. Williams Jr. will conduct the revival services for the week. He is pastor of Walls Memorial AME Zion Church in Charlotte and holds a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary.
Spencer Presbyterian
SPENCER ó The Rev. Dr. Samuel Dansokho will be the guest preacher at Spencer Presbyterian Church tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 18, at 11a.m. A native of Senegal in West Africa, Dr. Dansokho is a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and Associate Professor of Religion, Culture, and Society at Hood Theological Seminary.
The congregation will serve dinner in the fellowship hall following worship.

KANNAPOLIS ó Homecoming and revival services begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18. Unitedís pastor John E. Jones will bring the message. Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m.
The Rev. John E. Leazer of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Concord, will be the speaker at 3 p.m.

STATESVILLE ó New Creation Baptist Church will observe homecoming on Sunday Sept. 18, at 3 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. James Miles, associate minister from Godís Tabernacle for Believers, Rockwell.
This will be held at the Statesville Civic Center. He will be accompanied by his pastor, choir, and congregation. Dinner will be served at 2 p.m.
Revival services are Monday, Sept. 19-Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. nightly. Revival speaker will be pastor Reginald McConneaughey Sr. from Godís Tabernacle for Believers, Rockwell, with choir and congregation.

McBride, a comedian, storyteller, evangelist and preacher, bases his comedy on his 13 years of youth ministry, three years of pastoring in South Georgia, ten years of running youth camps, and attending more than 30 mission trips.
