SALISBURY, N.C. – Rowan Regional Medical Center is one of only 60 hospitals nationwide to be named as one of the “Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs”, a distinction awarded by Becker’s Hospital Review, a leading national publication focused on healthcare services and management.

Of the nearly 5,800 hospitals registered with the American Hospital Association, Rowan Regional Medical Center is among 60 selected by Becker’s for consistently providing excellent orthopaedic care with a high level of service, maintaining an outstanding local and national reputation, and treating a high volume of orthopaedic cases.  Only one percent of all hospitals nationwide were highlighted by Becker’s.

Earlier this year, Rowan Regional Medical Center’s orthopaedic program was named a Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement for the second year. This recognition is awarded to facilities who demonstrate an expertise in quality care, resulting in better overall outcomes for patients.

“These awards reflect Rowan’s extraordinary commitment to providing the best possible care to our patients,” said hospital president, Dari Caldwell. “They also highlight the high level of expertise our physicians have in diagnosing and treating orthopaedic problems.”

Rowan Regional Medical Center has a 17-bed unit designed for joint replacement and three separate operating rooms designated for orthopaedic joint replacement procedures. The orthopaedic unit, named Joynt Camp, caters to orthopaedic patients by providing additional specialists, such as physical therapists, and has an open-door policy for family members.

The hospital’s surgeons have extensive orthopaedic experience and subspecialize in joint replacement, shoulder care and sports medicine. They provide a continuum of treatment options from nonsurgical medical care to minimally invasive procedures for a range of orthopaedic conditions.
