Authorities have identified a Mooresville man who was killed in an accident Saturday on Freeze Road as Donald Wayne Jackson.
Jackson, of 220 Meadow Lane, was killed when he lost control of his Ford Escape at about 1:34 p.m. Saturday afternoon after losing control and hitting a ditch.
The 26-year-old was engaged to be married and had an infant daughter.
According to the Highway Patrol, Jackson’s vehicle went off the right side of the road while in a curve, causing him to overcorrect. The vehicle then rolled, throwing him from the SUV.
The vehicle landed upright, but caught fire. Because of the fire, officers were unable to determine if the man was wearing a seatbelt. It did not appear speeding was a factor in the crash.
Authorities pronounced Jackson dead on the scene.
