Two Salisbury businesses were robbed early this morning on East Innes Street.
According to a Salisbury Police report, a man walked into the Circle K convenience store at 1015 E. Innes St. and demanded the cashier open the ATM at about 2:15 a.m.
The cashier told the man, who was described wearing a green corduroy shirt with a stocking over his head, that she didn’t have the key to the ATM, but did give the man some cash from the register. The amount was not available this morning.
The man was last seen heading east toward Interstate 85 on foot.
Nearly five hours later, just across East Innes Street, another man walked into Subway, demanded money from the cashier and said he had a gun. But the man, who was dressed in a Carolina Panthers coat and sunglasses, fled when the cashier picked up the phone to call police. Authorities said the man dropped the coat and sunglasses when running from the business. He was not given any money.
The two incidents do not appear to be related. Salisbury Police are investigating.
