CHINA GROVE ó Ride through China Grove and you may notice all the speed limit changes. The town board hopes to clear up any confusion.
China Grove officials recently approved maintaining the 35 mph speed limit just before entering downtown, where the speed limit is 25 mph. But board members made changes along Patterson Street.
China Grove wants to set a more consistent speed limit of 35 mph throughout areas of town ó along Patterson Street, for example, where the limit changes from 35 mph to 45 mph and back to 35 mph.
ěNow itís 35 all the way,î said Interim Town Manager Ken Deal.
Deal said look for signs that will reflect the change. Some signs already note it is 35 mph unless otherwise posted.
Officials noted the intersection at Church Street and U.S. 29, near the Rite Aid drug store, is a dangerous area.
