SALISBURY — A sprinkler system doused a fire this afternoon at a rubber recycling business on Peach Orchard Road.
Firefighters responded to Rubber One Recycling, at 245 Peach Orchard Road off South Main Street, around 1:45 p.m.
The first unit on the scene reported seeing smoke coming from the structure. Employees had evacuated.
A few minutes later, a firefighter reported that a sprinkler system had put out the fire in the warehouse section of the business. Firefighters have opened doors to release smoke from the building.
