Autopsy: Heart attack killed man found in street

SALISBURY — A heart attack caused the death of a man found lying on Cedar Street, police said this afternoon.
The body of Wiley Ottis Layton, 60, was discovered early Monday morning.
An autopsy report found that Layton, died of a heart attack and the injury to the back of his head was “consistent with that of a fall during the medical event in which Mr. Layton struck his head on the sidewalk.”
The Salisbury Police Department has concluded its investigation, the agency said in a press release.
Layton was found by Salisbury Police patrol units at about 6 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Cedar and East Lafayette streets.
