A Salisbury man was charged Friday night after police say he shoved marijuana in his mouth at a traffic stop.
According to a Salisbury Police report, officers stopped Martin Jamaal Blair’s pink mo-ped at about 9:30 p.m. on East 11th Street and asked the man for his license and registration.
At that time, Blair allegedly pulled marijuana from the mo-ped’s seat and shoved it into his mouth.
When the officer told him to spit it out, the report said, the man clenched his jaw and would not respond. Police also found a marijuana cigarette in the mo-ped.
Officers took Blair to jail, where the man spat out .14 ounces of marijuana.
Blair, 208 Forest Winds Drive, was charged with misdemeanor resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was given a $2,900 bond and was in jail Monday morning.
