SALISBURY — Joseph and Leslie Cataldo have been out of the restaurant business for a while, but they’ll be back in by next month.
The Spencer couple acquired downtown Salisbury’s Brick Street Tavern, which closed its doors Saturday. By Monday, the Cataldos were the new owners. Brick Street opened in September 2009.
“We want it to be an extention of our home,” Leslie said.
The couple want to establish the restaurant as a neighborhood-, family- and community-oriented place.
The family restaurant will open as Cooper’s in about a month.
“It’s a family business for us. The boys will be very involved,” Leslie said.
The couple’s two children, Anthony, 15, and Dante, 13, will be regular fixtures at the restaurant, they say.
It was time to get back into the restaurant business they said, especially since their children are older.
“We want it to be a place for good food and fun times,” Joseph said.
The restaurant is located at 122 E. Fisher St. in Salisbury.
The Cataldos are former owners of Uncle Louie’s in Spencer (now Pinocchio’s) and have been catering.
They will include catering and special events into this business. “We hope to partner with other downtown businesses. We embrace it,” Joseph said.
