Wallace Wood Wedding

Emily Blair Wallace and Dr. Benjamin Chadwick Wood were united in marriage Aug. 6, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Salisbury.
The Rev. Stephen Haines and The Rev. Thomas Griffis officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was fol-lowed by a reception at the Historic Salisbury Depot.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Charlie Jay Wallace, and attended by Kristin Elium McDaniel as matron of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Leslie Anne Wood, sister of the groom of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Blair Harkey Stephenson of Huntersville; Dr. Jeyhan Suzan Wood of Winston-Salem; and Chloe April Knight of Charlotte. Alexandra Chadwick Numbers, cousin of the groom, of Raleigh, was flower girl.
Benny Jeffrey Wood stood as his son’s best man. Groomsmen included  Christopher Jeffrey Wood, brother of the groom, of Charlotte;  Dr. Bill Gus Kortesis of Charlotte; Dr. Robert Matthew Coward of Chapel Hill; and Dr. Michael Gabriel Hillegass, III of Boston, Mass. Serving as ushers were Dr. Gaurav Des Bharti of Winston-Salem; Dr. Clay Garrett Forsberg of Winston-Salem; Dr. Jeremy William Pyle of  Raleigh; and Mr. Sean Toler Wood of Winston-Salem. Ring bearer was nephew of the bride Charlie Jackson Wallace of Salisbury.
Serving as program attendants were Tiffany Atwood Wallace, sister-in-law of the bride, of Salisbury, and Lisa Marie Zuckerman of Oakland, Mich.
Organist was Matthew Brown; soloist was Mrs. Martha Smith; and trumpeter was Ms. Anita Cirba.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Linne Baldwin Wallace and the late Mr. Charlie James Wallace of Salisbury and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Stancil Baldwin, Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie James Wallace, Sr., all of Rockingham. A 2004 graduate of West Rowan High School, Emily received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2008, where she was a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda honor society. She is currently pursuing her Master degree in Nurse Anesthesia through the UNCG program at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
The groom is the son of Lu Anne and Jeffrey Wood of Winston-Salem and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Benny Wood of Tobaccoville and Ms. Jo Anne Atkins Chadwick and the late Rev. Claude Truett Chadwick of Winston-Salem. A 1999 graduate of Forsyth Country Day School, Benjamin received  a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003; a Doctor of Medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 2007; and is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies. He is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery resident at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem.
Following a wedding trip to Turks and Caicos, the couple are making their home in Winston-Salem.
