Woodleaf Tomato Festival is this weekend

WOODLEAF — The annual Woodleaf Tomato Festival happens this Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 885 Woodleaf Barber Road. The parade begins at 10 a.m.
Other festivities include a silent auction, a tomato recipe cook-off, a bake sale, live music and entertainment. Traditional pageants and contests are the Ms. Tomato Queen Contest, the Lil’ Tommy Toe contest, the Lil’ Miss Mater contest and the Little Mater Sprout contest.
The festival is sponsored by Unity Presbyterian Church.
Kicking off the Tomato Festival tomorrow evening, Friday, Aug. 19, is the Tomato Trot, a 5 K evening run. Registration begins at 6:15 and the run begins at 7:30 p.m. Register at Active.com or email to tomatotrot@yahoo.com
The cost for pre-registration is $20, and is $25 the day of the race.
