Walmart donates TVs, furniture to Pfeiffer

When Pfeiffer University students return to campus for the 2011-12 academic year, they will discover new flat screen televisions and casual furniture in the lounge areas of their residence halls thanks to a generous gift from the areaís Walmart stores.
The items donated by Walmart stores in a market that encompasses Albemarle, Salisbury, Kannapolis, Concord Mills and points between, including the recently opened Walmart Express in Richfield located one mile from Pfeifferís Misenheimer campus, total nearly $7,000. In addition to 32-inch flat screen televisions and mounts, included in the gift are futons, casual chairs, area rugs, floor lamps, box fans and tray tables.
ěThe quality of life on campus outside the classroom is essential to a successful and satisfying undergraduate experience,î said Mike Miller, president of Pfeiffer University. ěWe are extremely grateful to Walmart for their willingness to support student life in this way.î
The location of the Walmart Express, on Route 49 near U.S. Route 52 in Richfield will be convenient for Pfeiffer students for buying supplies such as copy paper and printer ink.
