SALISBURY — Long-awaited sidewalks along Old Wilkesboro Road will become a reality this fall when the city builds the footpaths from Partee Street to Brenner Avenue.
The $71,000 stretch of concrete is only a portion of the entire $443,000 proposal to run sidewalks from Partee to Kelsey Scott Park, but the segment will serve the portion of Old Wilkesboro Road with the most foot traffic, officials say.
