SALISBURY — Angela Renea Dennis, 35, of 404 S. Clay St., took books from one Rowan-Cabarrus Community College bookstores and sold them to another, authorities say.
Dennis worked at RCCC’s north campus in Salisbury, where she stole books worth $5,456 since September and sold them at RCCC’s south campus in Concord, according to a police report.
Held in the Rowan County Detention Center under $10,000 secured bond, Dennis faces 24 felonies charges — 11 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses and 13 counts of larceny by an employee.
Both bookstores are owned and operated by Barnes & Noble, and a loss prevention officer discovered the thefts. Records showed Dennis, a Barnes & Noble employee, selling the books, but there was no record of her buying the books, authorities said.
