SALISBURY — Charges were dropped against a Salisbury man accused of beating his girlfriend in January.
Tony Johnell Mills, 47, of 8081/2 W. Horah St., was charged earlier this year with felony assault and kidnapping following an incident with Stephanie Jordan, 28, outside Pine Hills Apartments.
Jordan lodged the charges after police found her, apparently injured, walking near the Salisbury-Spencer line. She collapsed and was hospitalized, a police report said.
The charges were dropped in late February when the court found no probable cause to proceed with the case, court records show.
Mills is scheduled to appear in court Monday on misdemeanor and felony drug possession charges, which stemmed from the January incident.
Investigating officers searched Mills’ home after learning he may have drugs and discovered crack cocaine and marijuana, according to a police report.
