KANNAPOLIS — The victim of Tuesday night’s deadly shooting in Kannapolis has been identified as Jason Michael Sides, who was found shot outside 2099 Central Drive.
On Tuesday night at 9:21 p.m. Kannapolis Police communications received a call regarding a shooting which just occurred at 2099 Central Drive near the intersection of Wright Avenue. The caller said a male was lying in the roadway and it appeared that he had been shot.
Officers found Sides in the roadway with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Emergency medical personnel also arrived and performed life saving measures. Their attempts were unsuccessful.
Kannapolis Police’s Felony Investigation Unit is working an open and still active investigation completing evidence collection and interviewing witnesses. Information released regarding the investigation will be limited.
