SALISBURY — A Salisbury man was charged Thursday with drug possession and arrested on other prior warrants after an officer noticed his “suspicious behavior.”
Michael Eugene Daniels, 52, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and resist, obstruct, delay an officer. A warrant from July 26 for assault inflicting serious injury was served.
A Salisbury Police officer saw the man in the 200 block of North Shaver Street. The officer asked the man for his name and he gave the officer a fake name.
The officer knew the name was not his real name. Once the officer checked, he also discovered the man, later identified as Daniels, had an arrest warrant from a prior incident.
Daniels was searched and the officer reported finding a marijuana cigarette in his shirt pocket.
Daniels remains in the Rowan County jail under a $1,253 bond.
