ROCKWELL — Authorities say a fight over $25 landed one Rockwell man in the hospital and resulted in a felony charge for another.
Joshua Eugene Burleyson, of 13175 Old Beatty Ford Road, was arrested and charged Monday with assault inflicting serious bodily injury after getting into a fight with Jerry Adams at his home at 415 Oliver Road.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the two men had been arguing about $25 that Burleyson reportedly owed to Adams.
The sheriff’s office report said Burleyson punched Adams several times in the face and kicked him several times. Adams, 59, required medical attention for broken ribs and severe bruising.
Burleyson, 25, has been released from the Rowan County Detention Center, where he was given a $3,500 bond.
