Lutherís Lutheran Church is holding a Summerfest today July, 30, starting at 5 p.m. There will be live bluegrass/ gospel music, food, and water games for the kids. First Presbyterian
On Sunday, July 31, First Presbyterian Church, Salisbury, holds fifth Sunday Service of Wholeness and Healing at 9 a.m. in the sanctuary.
At 10 a.m., is Sunday school for all ages, and at 11 a.m.is worship in Lewis Hall, featuring the Summer Handbell group and the recently returned TWAM (Teens With A Mission) Costa Rica Mission Group who will give a report.
Immediately following the 11 a.m. service is a reception in honor of Paul E. Oakley, interim organist for the past two and a half years, for his time of service to this congregation. He is now moving on to another job in Kentucky.
Maranatha Bible
Former minister of music Barry McKenzie will be the guest pastor this Sunday, July 31, at Maranatha Bible Church, 2320 Statesville Blvd.
He will speak at the 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. services. McKenzie was minister of music at Maranatha for eight years and is currently serving in the same capacity at West Haven Baptist Church in Clemmons.
Pine Ridge Baptist
China Grove ó Morning worship on Sunday, July 31, will begin at 10 a.m. with music by Harmonyís Way. At 11 a.m. the message will be delivered by pastor George Bradshaw. New Bethel Baptist Church will hold its 11 a.m. service at Dan Nicholas Park, shelter 4 on Sunday, July 31. A picnic will follow the service.
MacedoniaMissionary
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church will hold its annual Homecoming service on Sunday, July 31. The speaker for the 11 a.m. service will be Dr. W.T. Jackson, pastor, and the speaker for the 3 p.m. service will the Rev. Perry Dye, pastor of Henderson Grove Baptist Church. Dinner will be served from 1:30-2:30 p.m. The church is located off Hwy 70 on Enon Church Road.
Veteranís 5th Sunday
The fifth Sunday song service at the State Veteranís Home on the Salisbury VA Campus is from 3-4 p.m July 31, and is open to everyone.

St. Matthewís
ROCKWELL ó The Rev. Patrick Jones is guest speaker at St. Matthewís Baptist Church on Sunday, July 31 at 3 p.m., sponsored by missionary Ellen Robertson.
St. Matthewís annual revival runs Wednesday, Aug. 3 through Friday, Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Nightly speakers in order are the Rev. Arthur Heggins of St. Luke Baptist; the Rev. Carolyn Bratton of Mooreís Chapel AME Zion; the Rev. Dr. Phelps of Gethsemane Baptist.
Northside Church
The Northside Church of God of Prophecy, Long Street, will host the July 31 fifth Sunday service at 5 p.m. Bishop Floyd D. Collins, pastor of Stanton Place Church of God of Prophecy, High Point, will speak. Also participating are the Stanton Place Choir, Northside Praise Dancers, The Leslie Lott Singers and The Voices of Joy. Bishop James J. Lott II is host pastor.

CHINA GROVE ó Concordia hosts a Preaching-Teaching Mission Aug. 2-4 at 7 p.m. Each night is a casual event with a guest preacher, guest musician, congregational sing-a-longs, prayer and mission collection for an outreach chosen by the guest pastor.

Human Rights event
The Salisbury-Rowan Unit of Church Women United in NCís annual Human Rights Celebration is 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5 at St. Luke Baptist Church on Hawkinstown Road.
The theme is ěLiving Our Legacy, Driving the Movement,î and is also a celebration of 70 years of the Church Women United movement.
Speaking will be Ollie Mae Carroll, a leader in the community, currently retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center as a Psychiatric Clinical Specialist with thirty-two years of distinguished federal service, including four years in the U.S. Air Force).
In addition, Dorothy Gill Smith, Human Rights chair, and Brenda Venning, president, will award two local residents the nationally designed Human Rights Awards. Following the program, refreshments will be served.
