Elizabeth City State (Northern) and Shaw (Southern) were picked to win CIAA divisional football titles on Tuesday.
Virginia State was picked as the runner-up in the Northern Division, while Winston-Salem State was tabbed for second place in the Southern Division.
Livingstone was picked sixth in the six-team Southern Division, and no Blue Bears were named to the preseason All-CIAA team.
St. Augustineís, Catawbaís first opponent, was picked third in the Southern Division.
Livingstone opens at Chowan, which was picked fifth in the Northern Division.
