Greenway 5K, fun run Saturday morning at Knox Middle School

SALISBURY ó The 14th annual Run/Walk for the Greenway 5K and Half Mile Fun Run are set for Saturday at Knox Middle School. The race is presented by Salisbury Parks and Recreation and the Salisbury Rowan Runners.
The 5K Run/Walk kicks off the action at 8 a.m. and the Fun Run follows at 8:45 a.m. Knox Middle School is located at 625 Park Road West. Race fee for the 5K is $20. The Fun Run is $10.
Awards will be given in 14 age groups for both males and females. Each participant gets a short sleeve dri-fit technical shirt and a goody bag. Plenty of food and refreshments will be available to all participants. Door prizes will be given during the awards ceremony. All participants in the Fun Run will receive a medal.
Sponsors for the event are Rowan Regional Medical Center, Sportrax, Food Lion, Apple Baking Co., Krispy Kreme, Chick-fil-A, Marathon Business Center, Xerox and Knox Middle School. All proceeds go to the greenway project. Used running shoes and canned goods will be collected for Rowan Helping Ministries.
