rowan legion update

Action continues in Bracket A Thursday night in the Area III American Legion playoffs, with Randolph, High Point and Winston-Salem still in the running.
The Area III championship series is set to begin on Saturday.
Rowan would host either Winston-Salem or High Point. A coin flip would determine home-field advantage if Randolph is the opponent. Like Rowan, Randolph is a No. 1 seed.
Rowan County already has qualified, along with host Morehead City, Cherryville, Cary and Wayne County, for the five-day, eight-team state tournament, which is now set to start July 22.
Rowan will play one of the early games on July 22. Area III is matched up with Area I in the first round. If Rowan enters as the Area III champion, it will play the Area I runner-up at 12:30 p.m. If Rowan is the Area III runner-up, it will take on the Area I champion at 9:30 a.m.
The Southeast Regional is Aug. 4-8 in Sumter, S.C. The World Series is in Shelby on Aug. 12-16.
