Salisbury/Rowan Senior Games hosted teams from Salisbury, Winston-Salem and Charlotte in a state qualifying round robin softball tournament at Ellis Park on Saturday, June 18. Play was fierce in the first game going into extra innings before the Oak Park Retirement Clovers from Salisbury pulled out a one run victory against the Wannabees from Winston-Salem. In the second game the Wannabees rallied to defeat the Sassy Softball Sisters from Charlotte. In game three, the Clovers held on in a low scoring game to defeat the Sassy Softball Sisters by three runs. Trophies were awarded following the games. Oak Park Clovers finished first, Wannabees came in at second and the Sassy Softball sisters took home the third place trophy. Despite the heat a great time was had by all.
