Powlas – Misenheimer Wedding

ROCKWELL — Katie Lauren Powlas of Salisbury and Mark Stephen Misenheimer of Rockwell were united in marriage Saturday, July 2, 2011, at St. James Lutheran Church.
The Rev. Craig Sigmon officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Historic Salisbury Depot.
The bride was escorted by her father, Alan Powlas. Attending as matrons of honor were the bride’s sister, Samantha Wells of Salisbury and Blaire Goodale of China Grove. Bridesmaids included sister of the groom Brooke Misenheimer of Rockwell, Claire Brinkley of Faith, Kara Barger of Faith, Natalie Jarman of Cornelius and Jordan Weber of Salisbury.
Steve Misenheimer stood as his son’s best man. Serving as groomsmen were brother of the groom Kurt Misenheimer of Rockwell, Travis Sloop of Salisbury, Tyler Sloop of Granite Quarry, Taylor Weber of Salisbury, Trey Ledbetter of Rockwell, Justin Miller of Rockwell, Aaron Safrit of Faith and Adam Graham of?Harrisburg. Kevin Ihme of Greensboro and Justin Wells of Salisbury served as ushers.
Quanesha Campbell of Rockwell served as program attendant.
The bride is the daughter of Alan and Terri Powlas and the granddaughter of William and Sarah Basinger and Mary and the late George Powlas, all of Salisbury. A 2001 graduate of East Rowan High School, Katie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Culinary Nutrition from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, R.I., in 2005. She is a FACS teacher with Rowan-Salisbury School System.
The groom is the son of Steve and Mary Lynn Misenheimer of Rockwell and the grandson of Roselyn and the late James Lee Misenheimer of Rockwell and Hoy and the late Evelyn Stirewalt of Faith. A 2001 graduate of East Rowan High School, Mark received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Insurance and Risk Management from Appalachian State University in 2005. He is employed by Nationwide Insurance.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will make their home in Rockwell.
