Anderson 50th Anniversary

Robert and Brenda Anderson celebrated their 50th anniversary July 2, 2011. They were married July 2, 1961, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Salisbury.
Robert retired from Celanese in 1998 and went to work for the Town of Granite Quarry, where he retired in 2009 due to health reasons. Brenda worked as an orthodontic assistant for Dr. William Smith Kirk for 39 years until his retirement. She now works for Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center in ED.
The Andersons have a son, Kenny Anderson, and a daughter, Amy (Doug) Shellhorn of Salisbury; and three grandchildren, Walker, Baine and Faye Carol Shellhorn.
The Andersons celebrated with a trip to DisneyWorld with their entire family in December 2010. They were also given an anniversary dinner by Kenny, Amy and Doug on June 10, when they were joined by about 100 family members and friends in celebration. The biggest surprise for the couple was an exact duplicate of their wedding cake.
