A domestic dispute between a married couple ended violently Thursday when the man reportedly threw his wife through a glass case at White’s Barbershop and Beauty Salon.
The shop, located at 224 S. Main St., had shards of glass on the floor and near the entrance. A broken glass showcase could be seen through the store’s front glass.
Capt. Shelia Lingle, spokeswoman for Salisbury Police, said one person was taken to Rowan Regional Medical Center and the other involved was arrested.
“They’ll probably both be arrested,” Lingle said. “It was a domestic dispute.”
According to bystanders, the couple was arguing loudly before police arrived. The woman was placed on a stretcher and taken in an ambulance.
A man that reported witnessesing the incident but asked to remain anonymous said the couple both worked at the barbershop.
Melinda Trotter, owner of Penny Pinchers on S. Main St., said she heard a woman screaming even after police arrived.
“I heard a lot of screaming,” Trotter said. “Within 10 minutes the police came. She was in there screaming after the cops came.”
The Salisbury Police Department has not yet released the names of the individuals involved.
