A Salisbury man ended up in jail Sunday after a party at the Rowan Museum got out of hand.
Terry Lawrence White Jr., 18, of 1031 Grady St. was charged with resist, delay, obstruct a public officer and carrying a concealed weapon after trying to flee police.
When Salisbury Police officers arrived at the corner of North Main and Council streets shortly after midnight, people were fighting and throwing rocks and bottles amid a crowd of 75 to 100 people, Salisbury Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said.
Lingle said when officers approached the subjects who were fighting, White ran toward Church Street.
When officers caught up with him he refused to cooperate. Lingle said when officers searched White they found a lock blade knife open in his pants.
White was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $2,500 bond.
