ROCKWELL — A Rockwell man reported his 6-year-old English bulldog stolen earlier this week.
Jonathan Lee Morgan, 48, of the 5900 block of N.C. 152, told police his dog Koa has been missing since May 30.
He said the dog is a show dog that is primarily kept inside, the police report says. But he let the dog out into his fenced-in backyard. When he returned to let her in, the dog was missing.
Morgan told investigators the chain link fence had barbed wire stretched around the bottom and he did not see any place where the dog had dug out.
The dog is valued at $3,000.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to a similar incident Saturday when Jose Nicholas Ruano Ayala, 31, of Briarwood Terrace, reported his 4-year-old tan, buckskin pony stolen.
The pony was valued at $1,500.
Both cases are still under investigation. There are no leads at this time.
