GRANITE QUARRY — Two men have been taken to the hospital after a head-on collision this morning.
Sgt. K.W. Trivett of the Granite Quarry-Faith Joint Police Authority said the severity of their injuries was unclear.
The wreck happened around 9:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street at its intersection with West Church Street.
The driver of a Ford Ranger made a right turn from West Church into the southbound lane of North Main. The driver of a Dodge Ram extended cab pickup traveling north on Main told police he took his eyes off the road for a moment. When he looked up, he had drifted into the wrong lane and collided with the Ford.
The front ends of both trucks were caved in on the driver’s side.
Trivett identified the driver of the Dodge as Robby Craver. The name of the Ford driver, who Trivett said suffered the most serious injuries, was not immediately available.
Both men were taken by ambulance to Rowan Regional Medical Center.
