Pops at the Post is Saturday

Pops at the Post, a free outdoor concert performed by the Salisbury Symphony, will be Saturday, June 4 at the loading dock of the Salisbury Post, on South Church Street.
The event began in 2005 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Salisbury Post and has quickly become a cherished community event.
The concert, which typically lasts about two hours with a 15-minute intermission, will begin at sundown.
There will be free Cheerwine, and food will be available from various vendors, who will set up along Fisher Street by 4 p.m.
Tailgating parking will open at 1 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis in the Post employee and First Bank parking lots.
In the event of rain, the concert will be held at Keppel Auditorium on the campus of Catawba College.
As an opening concert prior to Pops At The Post,Salisbury Swing Band, under the direction of Dr. Steve Etters, will perform from 5-7 p.m. in the First Bank parking lot.
The band features Big Band music from the ’40s and ’50s as well as popular dance styles of the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s along with familiar beach music selections.
