SALISBURY — A Concord woman is in the Rowan County jail under $150,000 secured bond, charged with trafficking heroin and possession of drugs.
Sara Carroll Fields, 27, of 607 Woodbrook Place in Concord, is charged with felonies including trafficking heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin and possession of opium. She is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia including crack cocaine, straws and syringes.
Kannapolis Police Vice Squad Officer T.M. Roth arrested Fields Friday night at a motel in Kannapolis. The motel is in Rowan County, so she was jailed at the Rowan County Detention Center.
She is scheduled for a first appearance in court Tuesday.
Fields is the daughter of Danny and Raychel Carroll and the mother of Mallory Fields, all of whom died in an airplane crash in North Myrtle Beach in July 2010. Danny Carroll was flying the plane back to Concord when it crashed in a mobile home park shortly after takeoff.
The Carrolls were well known in Cabarrus and Rowan counties. Raychel was a retired teacher and Danny co-owned Lady’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The Carrolls’ heirs are not associated with Lady’s Funeral Home.
