Waterworks hosts new shows

Five solo exhibitions and an award winning student show are coming to Waterworks Visual Arts Center on Saturday. “In the Details” features a variety of artists’ meticulous approaches, creating worlds in their artwork where every inch matters.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 27 from 6-8 p.m. Exhibition dates are May 21-Aug. 13.
In the Norvell Gallery: “Slogans,” by Michelle Heinz, New York City.
In the Stanback Gallery Hall: “Transparent Imagery,” Trena McNabb, Bethania, NC.
In the Osborne and Woodson Galleries: “North Carolina Birds in Hand,” Dan Abernathy, Sparta, N.C.
In the Woodson Gallery: “New Growth,” Holden McCurry, Asheville.
In the Young People’s Gallery: “Seed Stitches” by Nancy G. Cook, Charlotte.
Special Exhibition: Dare To Imagine Award winner, R. Dean Crouch, East Rowan High School, Rockwell.
Stanback Sensory Garden: Sculptures by Don Green, Winston-Salem.
Waterworks Visual Arts Center is located at 123 E. Liberty St. Walk-in, self-guided tours are welcome during gallery hours. Admission is free, donations are appreciated.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. -5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
