SALISBURY — The Salisbury Police Department says detectives have solved a break-in and larceny that was reported March 26. The suspect is in jail.
Vernon Tyree Clinding, 21, of 109 W. Miller Road, was arrested Thursday night and charged with safecracking, felony breaking and entering and felony larceny. He’s currently in the Rowan County jail under a $25,000 secured bond.
Police said Clinding broke into a home at 1914 Ganell Ave., taking several safes, a laptop computer and games. Contents of the safes were not immediately available, and it is unknown if any of the items have been recovered.
Clinding will make his first appearance in court Monday.
Clinding has previously been convicted of assault on a female, trespassing and disorderly conduct.
